Tim Urban may not like Vote for the Worst, but the site proved they loved him tonight at the 2010 Whatevia Awards. Urban swept the awards, winning the 3 major categories: VFTW Moment of the Year, Favorite VFTW Contestant, and Favorite VFTW Performance by a Lead Karaoke Singer. The night's other big winner, Adam Lambert, cleaned up in the alumni categories by winning Favorite American Idol Alumni Moment of the Year and Favorite American Idol Alumni Train Wreck Song Release for his American Music Awards performance and his single "For Your Entertainment" respectively.
When asked what this moment meant to him, Urban said, "I'm not excited I was nominated for any awards. It's not anything anybody should be proud of. I have no comment." After hearing Urban's acceptance speech, Vote for the Worst site founder Dave Della Terza then gave Urban another award just for the heck of it. Lambert was too busy taking a cheese grater to his face to offer a quote.
Other winners included cute-as-a-button Idol contestant Haeley Vaughn's performance of "I Wanna Hold Your Hand" in the Favorite VFTW Performance by a Supporting Karaoke Singer category, Katy Perry's mocking of Kara DioGuardi in the Favorite Direction by a Karaoke Judge or Mentor category, and Siobhan Magnus's butterfly outfit in the Favorite Awful Wardrobe Choice by a Karaoke Singer category.
Lee DeWyze also pulled off his first and likely only award win in the Favorite VFTW Performance by a Karaoke Group or Duo with his finale medley with the band Chicago.
A surprise award called the Lifetime Achievement Award of Suck was given to Constantine Maroulis for his efforts at making a complete fool of himself everywhere he goes. In honor of being the first recipient of the award, Vote for the Worst's founders are renaming the award the Constantine Maroulis Lifetime Achivement Award of Suck. Maroulis celebrated by giving gonorrhea to an 18 year old female fan.
Other shocking wins included Hanson's Danny Gokey babies chop and Mrs. Cookie's hate mail letter. It is also rumored that Crystal Bowersox actually bathed and washed her hair to attend the awards ceremony, hoping to win for her VTW shoutout. She was happy for Urban though, saying, "Hey at least he doesn't have to sign this fucking 19 Entertainment contract. He's just lucky all around, isn't he?"
The Whatevia Awards take place every year on the Vote for the Worst website to honor and award the entertaining moments that the site's viewers loved but America hated. Magnus summed up the importance of winning her award best by saying, "Blarghalarrrzzzzz!!!!!!"

Well, it's late May again; time to watch all the TV finales, get ready for summer, and to celebrate all the VFTW Victories! we always have during American Idol. Season 9 was a season of change (sic. decay) for American Idol but one thing that never changes is that there's always a worst. And while the show struggles with pathetic ratings and Simon leaving, VFTW struggled with choosing only one person as our pick from what was the worst cast EVER. Struggled until one young, shirtless, clueless man smiled his way into our lives, making VFTW history in the process. Read on to re-visit all the VFTW Victories we celebrated this year...
Normund Gentle sings a song for his favorite Idol this season, Siobhan Magnus, on the Wendy Williams Show. Normund, we know... we loved her too. But hey, when she tours America, the residents of local towns will be able to hear her outside the venues for a 30 mile radius. So we'll settle for that if we have to.
She may speak like a dull four-year-old and screech like a cat in a bag but, based on this shirt Siobhan wore in concert the other night, she seems to have learned something about boys... At least this is a step up from Adam Lambert wearing a Swastika last year!
