We're teaming with AOL Television to name the 12 worst 'American Idol' semifinalists ever.
Name: Sanjaya Malakar
Season: 6
Worst Performance: 'You Really Got Me'
Why We Loved Him (But Everyone Else Hated Him): If you know VFTW, this pick isn't a shock to you whatsoever. There was one Idol contestant who took VFTW from small webiste to cultural phenomenon. And without him, you may not have ever heard of us. That makes Sanjaya and his revolving hairstyles the #1 VFTW pick of all time and the finalists that pissed off the most people.
Sanjaya Malakar was an unassuming teenager who tried out for American Idol with his sister. When she didn't make the top 24 and he did, no one thought twice that Sanjaya would make it past the first few rounds. He started off shy, singing boring renditions of Stevie Wonder songs that barely got him noticed.

AOL Television and Vote for the Worst bring you the 12 Worst Finalists in American Idol history. Other people may have hated them, but Vote for the Worst loves these misunderstood geniuses for the entertainment value they brought to American Idol. So their "worst" is our "best", and we're gonna tell you why.
Check out #2: John Stevens at AOL Television today. John was the very first VFTW pick to really do some damage to the competition. Now season 3 was full of terrible contestants, but John Stevens rose above them all. His terrible falsetto in "Crocodile Rock" made us love him, and his shaky performance of "King of the Road" had us cheering. VFTW also created its very own website during John's run to amp up the support; previously we had been exclusively on the Survivor Sucks message board. After John's awful performance of "Mandy", the following night saw the 3 producers favorites in the bottom 3 and an untimely elimination for Jennifer Hudson. The outrage was the first time VFTW saw one of its picks cause chaos, and we all remember our first time. Alas, John didn't make it past another week, but we'll always have YouTube.
We'll be switching back and forth to get the entire list of 12 up. Our pick for #3 will be posted next Tuesday.

Name: Scott Savol
Season: 4
Worst Performance: 'Dance With My Father'
Why We Loved Him (But Everyone Else Hated Him): Scott Savol ushered in the beginning of the attention that made VFTW what it is today. After VFTW unsuccessfully supported Mikalah Gordon in the finals, then voted for the ridiculously untalented Constantine, we knew there had to be something better. And there was: FaFu. He talked about how his parents had never supported him and his dream to sing, gaining viewer supoort that led him into the finals.

Check out #4: Jasmine Trias at AOL Television today. Jasmine, also known as Jasmalien at VFTW for the hypnotic power the flower in her hair had over us mere Earthlings, was another great early VFTW success during Idol season 3. When talented singer like Jennifer Hudson exited the competition, the incredibly horrible Jasmine Trias wasn't even in the bottom group. Why? One word: Hawaii. Hawaii has its own time zone and thus can get in way more votes than any other location voting for Idol. The show found this out the hard way as Jasmine sailed to a top 3 finish without even breaking a sweat, making VFTW cheer and laugh when she ruined "It's Raining Men", proceeded to cry, and then was among the top 2 vote getters the next night. LaToya London went home in a shocking 4th place finish and America cemented their hate for Jasmalien. Our favorite Hawaiian's lasting legacy on the show? A contestant from Hawaii hasn't made the voting rounds since. Now that's funny!
