Next Rumored Judge: Courtney Love!

Posted by smarterthanpickler on Thursday, July 29, 2010 at 6:36 PM EDT

Looks like American Idol is concerned about how to appeal more to drug addicts and prostitutes as NBC Los Angeles is reporting that Courtney Love could be one of the new judges. As Jessica Simpson is also being considered and Randy Jackson is still around (for now), is next year going to be a singing competition or a race to see which judge can complete a full sentence first? I can see it now after each performance...

Randy: Yo...dude...dawg house...pitchy!

Jessica: I felt your second performance tonight was more in tune and had more feeling than your first.

AI Producer: Uh, Jessica, they haven't done their second performance yet. Wrong card.

Courtney Love: FUCK OFF!!!

It's going to be hard keeping up with all the rumors as Idol desperately tries to drum up as much hype as possible by milking this to death. All I know is everything is tilting in VFTW's direction, as next season's shaping up to be the greatest television disaster EVER!!!

Good Grief...Jessica Simpson To Become A Judge On American Idol?

Posted by smarterthanpickler on Wednesday, July 28, 2010 at 3:12 PM EDT

Life & Style Magazine is reporting that Jessica Simpson has had multiple talks with American Idol producer Ken Warwick to become a judge on the show. Can Jessica even spell judge? One could see how she'd be a good replacement for Paula in that they both can't complete a coherent sentence but Jessica's going to have to drink a whole lot of booze and pop a whole bunch of pills to fill our precious Paula's shoes.

Expect the rumors to really pick up as American Idol quickly approaches decision time. All we know for sure is that next season is going to be a total train wreck, and VFTW will be there to laugh at it!

Nigel Lythgoe... Coming Back to Idol?

Posted by thefunnystone on Monday, July 26, 2010 at 8:55 PM EDT

Our old buddy Nigel Lythgoe may be coming back to produce American Idol again. Nigel Lythgoe produced American Idol from seasons 1-7, but was then ceremoniously dumped. We always mocked Nigel on the show for his homophobic ways and his general idiocy, but let's be honest: Idol has been suffering since he left. At least when Nigel produced the show, he gave VFTW some shoutouts, he gave us the reign of terror of Sanjaya, and the show was watchable in a train wreck sort of way. Also, Nigel says he would fire all of the remaining judges and bring back Paula Abdul. Bonus! So Nigel, we hope they hire you back on, if for nothing else than the fact that we want a really good opponent to go up against. It was fun fucking with you and we hope we have the pleasure again.

Sony And American Idol Parting Ways?

Posted by smarterthanpickler on Monday, July 26, 2010 at 6:15 PM EDT

It looks like Sony is next to jump off the sinking ship American Idol. The good news is this means future Idol contestants may finally get to choose songs that have been released in the past twenty years. The bad news is that they won't have the geniuses behind them who shaped the sterling career of Taylor Hicks.
