When one attempts to differentiate The X Factor from American Idol, they say X Factor is more Fun, less Jesus. But after that, they'll point out that the judges on X Factor aren't there just to humiliate the contestants (as they are on American Idol) but also to serve as their mentors. But there have been hints all season that the judges are barely mentoring the contestants at all, and more evidence they give their precious time only to their favored acts. And now comments by just-eliminated contestant Treyc Cohen have completely blown the show's cover. Here's the Nigel we missed so much! Nigel Lythgoe, newly rehired executive producer of American Idol, tells MSNBC that season 10 of Idol is much better off without Simon because a better variety of contestants are making it to Hollywood. Nigel says that Simon "got too big for his boots" so he doesn't seem sad that he's gone. Nigel also says the show is not mocking people for their appearances this year (we'll believe that one when we see it). So is this season really going to be better without Simon rubbing his man boobs? Guess we'll find out in a few months.

With Simon Cowell gone, E! News is reporting that Randy Jackson is picking up where the caustic Brit left off for season 10. Apparently Randy is being the harshest of the judges and becoming more blunt. So instead of hearing "That was dreadful, bloody dreadful" we're going to hear "Yo man, that was awful, dawg. Awful, dude." Not feeling it. How many times must we say it- this judging panel is going to be incredibly bland unless they really step it up.

Ex American Idol judge Simon Cowell just felt like bragging this week - so he told the Daily Star that he's had sex with 2000 women. Who knew so many women loved the smell of stale cigarettes and being told they're no good in bed? There's the real story. Just don't make fun of Simon's man boobs or his lawyer will write you a nasty letter.
