Last night, American Idol produced its most entertaining performances in months. It's not how they intended either. The duets and trio that performed last night were so mind numbingly terrible, it was some of the most entertaining train wreck TV ever. And the best performance hands down goes to Jessica, Joshua, and Hollie, who pissed all over Kelly Clarkson's Stronger. Hollie was surprisingly the least offensive of the group and didn't contribute the laughs as much as the other 2. Jessica was entertaining for the first time this season, because it was truly Jessica who sounded the most horrific. So in honor of Idol finally being entertaining, enjoy this performance one more time. And remember, one of these horrible singers is going to win a recording contract. Let's hope it's the white guy with the guitar. If not, any of these 3 will do too.
Watch this video and check out Jessica's mouth at the end of the song. There is a note being held out but she starts smiling and the note continues. Was she lip syncing to a backing vocalist singing those notes? What do you think?
MJ of MJ's Big Blog did a piece for Entertainment Weekly about the Idol 11 contestants' Twitter followers. Twitter seems to be a pretty good indication of who is popular as the season progresses. And while a terrible song choice can do any of the contestants in, it's interesting to see how the contestants stacked up immediately after the Twitter accounts opened. VFTW darling Heejun Han is way out in the lead with 5222 followers at the time the article was posted, followed by Phillip Phillips, Colton Dixon, and Eben Franckewitz. Jessica Sanchez is the top girl with 2015 followers (those Filipinos love Idol!) Who should be worried? Aaron Marcellus is in dead last, so we can basically guarantee his ticket home next Thursday.
