VFTW's #wgwg5 Phillip Phillips recently did an interview with Canada's MuchMusic (full video here) and he demonstrated all the qualities that VFTW loves about him! Some highlights:
-he doesn’t plan on watching the new season of American Idol.
-Phillip puts on his version of a Canadian accent to tease the crowd.
-even though his song, “Home” is featured in a Tim Horton’s ad, he’d never heard of the Canadian coffee and doughnut shop.
-Phil’s had people he doesn’t know come up to him and claim to be distantly related. ”I might have a creepy family,” says Phillip.
-According to Phillip, the only reason the paps follow him is because he is “weird looking.”
-A true WGWG–Phillip loves his guitar and takes it with him everywhere.
-Phillip likes to call Ryan Seacrest “Little Ryan”.
-When the interviewer brings up the White Guy With Guitar thing, Phillip says, “It’s true….I am a white guy and I do play guitar.” Afterward, the interviewer presents Phillip with a t shirt with #WGGN1S emblazoned on the front and encourages his fans across the world to trend it. The letters stand for “White Guy With a Number 1 Single.” Phillip has no plans to wear it. Ever!
There's a national emergency: No, I'm not talking about the fiscal cliff, the dreadful economy or gun violence. No, this emergency is much more serious: #WGWG5 Phillip Phillips can't make one of the stupid New Year's Eve TV shows he was scheduled to perform on. What is America going to do? Who could possibly replace Phillip? I know, let's get another WGWG as Tate Stevens has been tabbed to replace Phil. It's the perfect choice as people won't even notice the difference!

Meanwhile, this is another slap in the face for Simon Cowell as this is proof that all his stupid show has produced is just an interchangeable version of the same winner American Idol's had five years running.
VFTW's Phillip Phillips is getting a hard lesson in how American Idol is a complete failure in making their winners successful. Phillip, who's supposed to be the songwriting type, needn't take the cap off his pen as his label recently put out this feeler for songs for Phillip's debut album...
POP/ROCK SONGS with MALE VOCALS in the style of David Cook, Paul McDonald, with elements of John Mayer, Train, and Jason Mraz, etc., needed by an A&R Manager of a Major Label for an AMERICAN IDOL winner working on his debut album. They’re looking for FRESH, UPLIFTING, and RADIO-FRIENDLY songs that are stylistically within the range of the referenced artists while bringing something NEW and FRESH to the table. They’ll be looking for the Top-40 Radio side of Pop/Singer-Songwriter/Rock, nothing overly moody or introspective. Your songs should be FUN and CATCHY, with BIG sing-along CHORUSES.
So basically they want to turn Phillip into the lovechild of Dave Matthews and Carly Rae Jepsen. But Phillip has the true VFTW spirit and will not take this lying down...

Some insider named Nathan Porter seems to be on Phillips side and is ready for war.
And American Idol wonders why all their recent winners have been flops.
Despite liking his American Idol winning song Home about as much as a severe case of kidney stones and wishing it would just go away, VFTW's Phillip Phillips, thanks to NBC, has a huge hit on his hands. Phillip hated this song from Day 1 (for understandable reasons) and like all recent Idol Winner's singles, it quickly faded away. For reasons unbeknownst to anyone, NBC decided to use this crappy song as a theme for their Women's Gymnastics (whatever that's all about) and with this massive exposure, his song has become the biggest hit in the country. It's like the movie The Producers; as hard as Phillip keeps trying to sabotage this song, it becomes a bigger hit.
Meanwhile, NBC (home of The Voice) is able to make this song a hit while Fox and American Idol fail...again.
