2012 has been a year of utter failure for Simon Cowell, and it ends appropriately as it's being reported Simon's going to fire his own handpicked judge Britney Spears. Simon wanted the crazy Britney (like the one on the left!) and layed down $15 million of Fox's money to get her and save his show. Instead, he got someone so medicated that she was restricted to three words per critique that were written down for her...and she still got them wrong!
Simon's on quite a roll. Meanwhile, Britney shouldn't be too upset as she's so out of it she probably doesn't even know she was on the show.
VFTW has known for ages that the mentoring premise on X Factor is bullshit; I even wrote an article about it two years ago. Cracks on the American version have been appearing over the past couple of weeks, first when Simon changed Emblem3's song 24 hours before their performance (5:18 mark), and this week when he did the same to Lyric 145 (at start of video). This begs the question: Where was mentor Simon all week while his acts were flailing around? As it turns out, it doesn't matter as it's the producers, not the mentors, whom decide what songs the acts are going to do, how they're going to look and everything else on this show. And now X Factor may have gotten more than they bargained for when they revealed the voting totals as the contestants at the bottom of the rankings and their mentors are letting their rage out on the Producers, the true controllers of this show.
Read on to discover all the rage and deception...
Like I wrote in my blog earlier this week, the moment we've all been waiting for is almost here as it's time for Live Shows, when Fox can no longer hide Britney's meltdowns. Fox is worried about this and is extending their time delay so Britney can be gurneyed away before we know about it. Don't be shocked if in the middle of a performance your feed goes out and when we come back there are only three judges, and one empty chair.
VFTW knew this was a trainwreck waiting to happen the moment it was announced Britney would be a judge, and I suspect so did Simon. Fox better have a team of ten men in white coats on standby as the question isn't whether Britney is going to have a meltdown on live National TV, but when. I say the first week, when the judges have to cut one of their own acts.
X Factor debuts tonight and there's about as much excitment as there is for your grandmother appearing in the quarterfinals of her lawn bowling tournamnet. Simon's world is falling apart as everything he's touched lately has been a massive flop and, in a last desperate attempt to save his show, he's totally sold out to the tards by bringing in Britney Spears and Demi Lovato as judges. And if you think lip syncer Britney and 19-year-old Demi judging singing is as low as you can get, you're wrong as one of the hosts is very likely Khloe Kardashian.
While X Factor was a big dud last year, it had its fair share of VFTW moments, including Asstro's awesome run as our pick, and a look at VFTW's list of this year's spoilers for the finalists suggests there may be more.
I'll be blogging starting tonight as we watch Simon completely fall apart as his final chance at salvaging the most important project of his career is surely going to to fail. And just to make sure, The Voice is intentionally going directly against him tonight, just to drive the final nail in the coffin.
