As the seventh season of American Idol has ended, Vote for the Worst has compiled a list of the 20 performances that make us actually take the time to watch Idol. These are not the 20 worst performances, nor are they 20 performances with bad singing. They are our 20 favorite, most entertaining performances that really define what VFTW is all about. Did your favorite make the list? VFTW started off with a bang during season 6 of American Idol when we selected Antonella Barba and Sundance Head as our first two picks. Almost immediately, racy pictures of Antonella surfaced, causing a public outcry and a flood of support. Eventually, pictures appeared with an Antonella lookalike performing oral sex, and VFTW was the first website to prove that these pictures were without a doubt fake. After lasting 3 weeks longer than anyone expected, our porcelain princess and the big guy were voted out. We then selected Sanjaya Malakar as our pick, and what a whirlwind that caused!
American Idol 6 was the weirdest season yet, mostly because it was so boring. But some performances stood out as VFTW classics. Here is the list that was compiled by VFTW members that highlights our 10 favorite performances of the year. Some were great for their bad singing, some were great for their eccentricities, and some were great for one word only: Sanjaya.
10. Cheek to Cheek - Sanjaya Malakar
The favorite VFTW contestant of the year made a splash with his big band night performance when he came out dressed in an all white suit and slicked back hair. Afterwards, Simon mockingly called the performance "brilliant," to which Sanjaya shouted, "Welcome to the Universe of Sanjaya!" We loved it!
Some of the things people enjoyed the most about this season of VFTW were the hilarious caricatures of our 6 picks, done by artist Laura Hawbaker. Well, we're auctioning the original caricatures off on eBay, so you can own a piece of VFTW history. Only one copy of each caricature was made, so when they're gone, that's it. Make sure to bid on your favorites today, the auctions will run for one week. Each caricature is signed by the artist.
