Chris Sligh Signs Record Deal with Brash Music
VFTW favorite Chris Sligh has signed a record deal with Brash Music. Congrats, Chris! We read the big news on MJ's Big Blog and Chris stopped by the message board to give us some more details. He's really excited about the deal and says that they understand where he's coming from and where he wants to go. Chris also posted a MySpace bulletin update this morning that says tracking starts on November 26 and "we will have my single to radio at the first of the year and I start touring hard in February. The album will drop the last Tuesday of March or the first Tuesday of April." It couldn't have happened for a nicer or more talented guy. So stop by the message board and congratulate Chris on the great news!

American Idol 6
VFTW started off with a bang during season 6 of American Idol when we selected Antonella Barba and Sundance Head as our first two picks. Almost immediately, racy pictures of Antonella surfaced, causing a public outcry and a flood of support. Eventually, pictures appeared with an Antonella lookalike performing oral sex, and VFTW was the first website to prove that these pictures were without a doubt fake. After lasting 3 weeks longer than anyone expected, our porcelain princess and the big guy were voted out. We then selected Sanjaya Malakar as our pick, and what a whirlwind that caused!

Even though Chris Sligh was kicked off Idol, his band Half Past Forever is competing to try to win a contest on Music Nation.com. The grand prize is a recording contract with Epic, which would probably be better than the crappy contract the Idol winner will get anyway. So head on over here and give Chris 5 stars to help him out, and hopefully he'll win the contest. Hey, if the guy is ballsy enough to say "Hi, Dave" on the show, the least we can all do is help his band out, so make sure to vote!
Downtime Update 3/29/07
As many people have noticed, VFTW was down for a good portion of the day yesterday. The site started having problems Tuesday due to an increased flow of traffic, but then Wednesday the site went down because of an attack. Someone was obviously threatened enough by the site's freedom of speech that they wanted to try to shut us down. Of course it didn't work, and we're back for now. Who would have done such a thing? Could it have been the people behind Idol? We're not sure, but anything is possible. Remember, even if the site is down, keep voting for Sanjaya every week, because we're doing an awesome job and we saved him AGAIN this week. We're like the little engine that could! Also, you can text VFTW to 27563 to get cell phone updates in case of situations like these as well.
We also lost our man Chris Sligh on the show (say it ain't so!), and of course Simon made a patronizing remark on his way out. Well, Chris, you've got fans for life at VFTW, and if there's anything we can do for you, let us know. Make sure to get a hold of us once your contract allows, we'd love to chat with you, you're awesome!
And if some of you haters want to write us a letter saying "Haha, you suck, your site was down", please do. We need more grammatically challenged letters for the mail bag. Thanks in advance!
Chris Sligh's "Hi Dave" was edited out of the British airing of the top 11 episode
Although we don't need more proof that Chris Sligh was giving us a shoutout on Tuesday, many idiot tweentards still think he was talking to someone else. When the episode aired in England, the "Hi, Dave" was edited out of the show. Of course, this must be because British people hate David Hasselhoff, right?
