Jennifer Hudson

Looks like Idol isn't the magic formula after all. While one former Idol at least got something at the Grammies (Carrie Underwood won Best Female Country Vocal Performance, and songwriters for Farmbot and Boomie won in 2 other categories), the other Idols left empty-handed. Major tool Daughtry rightfully lost in all categories except for Worst Performance by a Tool with an Idiotic Tattoo (he almost lost to Blake Lewis), while Mantasia, Kelly Clarkson, and homophobe Mandisa also took home nothing. Don't be sad, kids. You can still come back to sing Idol Gives Head 2.0 since you'll likely be forced to anyway. And we just had to post this funny picture of John Mayer and Daughtry at the finale, courtesy of MJ's Big Blog. Leave us a comment and write a caption!

How ironic is it that Nigel Lythgoe called VFTW a "fly buzzing around a cow," leading us up to this week's Entertainment Weekly cover where ponyhawked fly Sanjaya is buzzing around Jordin Sparks in what looks like a suspiciously cow-like print dress. The latest issue is actually pretty good, letting us remember great moments like Kevin Covais's Part Time Lover, and it even offers up a VFTW question in the trivia section:

49. Who was the first American Idol contestant to be "championed" by the notorious website Votefortheworst.com?
A. Julia DeMato
B. Kevin Covais
C. Jennifer Hudson
D. John Stevens

Boomie Wins the Golden Globe!

Boomie wins the Golden Globe

Jennifer Hudson, known to Worsters affectionately as Boomquisha or Boomie, just won the Golden Globe for Best Supporting Actress. Jennifer was actually the first ever VFTW pick due to her crazy outfits and over the top singing. Soon after, Boomie became way too good to be VFTW and rose in the ranks. And voila... she wins a Golden Globe. Big things happen for VFTW picks.

In other news, that bitch Whatevia STILL ain't impressed.

Votefortheworst.com was started shortly prior to American Idol 3, and it started to pick up steam as the season began. With no prior support and virtually no audience, VFTW struggled to convert people to the fun side. The first ever VFTW pick was Jennifer "Boomie" Hudson for her crazy outfits and over the top singing style. Votes for Boomie and contestants like the terrible Briana Ramirez-Rial and Lisa Wilson didn't accomplish much. But we realized America loved bad performances as much as us when our wildcard pick, Jon Peter Lewis was voted into the finals after his truly horrific performance of "A Little Less Conversation".
